Maui's Dolphins - Co-Construction Day 10

Year 10s

They began to present their speeches today on The Issues Facing Maui's Dolphins. Some really good facts and research coming out. Not a lot of personal response so far. Interestingly, they are behaving just like the research presented in staff meeting - children with access to a large pool of information become very black and white. The speeches so far have been very factual, and are showing the students' ability to fact find. They haven't gone any further than the google-able question and they haven't developed the information into a personal response.

What is the ungoogleable question?
What will get them thinking creatively?
What will shift them beyond the black and white and get them creating in colour?
